£4997 to Dance for Wellbeing programme

Sessions will take place in a safe, welcoming and accessible space where older adults can come together to dance, whilst at the same time building strength and increasing mobility - a fun and dynamic approach to health and wellbeing, which will offer regular social activity after each session.

In its pilot year, the programme will offer participation opportunities to vulnerable older people living in neighbourhoods in Brighton & Hove that are experiencing some of the highest levels of deprivation - a situation impacted by low income, complex living conditions, as well as mental and physical health challenges. Brighton & Hove has higher levels of pensioner poverty (15.3%) than the national average. Queens Park, the ward in which The Dance Space is located, has one of the highest levels in England.
