Donation of £5,000 to FareShare

The organisation takes surplus food that would otherwise end up in landfill and distributes it to more than 80 community projects in Brighton and Hove. Beneficiaries include a range of people including those on low incomes, unemployed people, isolated older people, homeless people, children in deprived areas, those with long-term health conditions, adults and children in hospices, refugees and asylum seekers, ex-offenders and victims of domestic violence. A diverse and dedicated team of 150 volunteers sort and pack the food and deliver it around the city.
