£5,000 to Family Support Work
Family Support Work is a lifeline for Sussex families in crisis, offering vital emotional and practical support to those in need. As an independent charity, they work in some of the most deprived areas, helping families overcome the immense challenges of poor mental health, financial instability, isolation, domestic abuse, and substance addiction. FSW believes that every family deserves a chance to thrive, no matter the obstacles they face.
With a dedicated team of 20 qualified practitioners and the support of 270 committed volunteers, FSW supports over 800 families each year. Each family is provided with a fully-trained practitioner for as long as they need one. The practitioner liaises with the family, other professional organisations and agencies to create a holistic wrap around support service. Practitioners provide support directly in the home as well as group interventions, food bank provision, holiday activities, and fuel support to ensure no family is left behind. All services are completely free.
