£5,000 to The Real Junk Food Project Brighton

TRJFPB operates by intercepting food that would otherwise be discarded, and redistributing it to those in need. Intercepted food is taken to the Hub which is located on a council estate on the outskirts of Brighton. It serves as a lifeline for many, offering a variety of rescued food to shoppers on a pay-as-you-feel basis.

Beyond the hub, the project also runs cafes in three locations across Brighton. The cafes turn surplus food into tasty and healthy meals - again, on a pay-as-you-feel basis.

TRJFPB intercepts over 8 tonnes of surplus food each month and uses it to produce over 900 meals each week
